I love the Panama City Beach race! The site never fails to deliver picturesque views, beautiful sand and blue green water… it makes me happy every time 🙂
I was planning on the Pro Watercross Pensacola Beach being my first race of the season, however the parts for my ski did not arrive in time to make it.
I arrived late Friday a little more rusty than everyone that had the first round under their belt, with a partner in crime; my pup Bronson. Conditions on Saturday were pretty gnarly with some overhead swells and holes on the back stretch of the course. However, Sunday the Gulf laid down for some fast paced racing.
As I said I was a little rusty (especially in the big surf Saturday) but I pulled out a good weekend. Moto 1 on Saturday I finished 7th, moto 2 on Sunday 5th and moto 3 a 3rd place finish! And Bronson, he ended the weekend with a great finish; drooling on my truck seat for the 7 hour ride home!
I’ll take it! After a spotty season in 2016, I’ll take consistently getting better finishes every moto in my first race out. Can’t wait for the next race. I’ll get a little tweaking done to the PX 300, some training and come out swinging for a podium!
I want to thank the Osborn family (Oz Tec Racing), our shared mechanic with all the tattoos, Blythin for the consistent therapy to counteract the physical abuse, and Jim, Trevor, Rick and Jeremy for all teaming up to make this weekend great!
Last but not least… my AWESOME sponsors: Blacktip Jetsports, Watercraft Superstore, and Action Sea-Doo in Bradenton, FL!
